Redknapp Replaces Ramos at Spurs

Redknapp Replaces Ramos at Spurs but What About Defoe?

Portsmouth have said they have “reluctantly agreed” to let Harry Redknapp go after they were offered £5million in compensation. Redknapp will be in charge for the match against Bolton today.

Redknapp said “It’s going to be done tonight so I’ll be in place by tomorrow. I will go in the dressing-room before the game and at half-time. Hopefully we can get a result tomorrow.

“Tottenham offered crazy money and if we’re honest it was too good for Portsmouth to turn down. It works out for everybody because it gives me a last chance to manage at a big club before I retire.”

"I love Portsmouth and I loved my time there, we had some fantastic success and I'd never been happier.

"But it's a great deal for Portsmouth, £5million for me, and it's a chance for me to get on and see what I can do."

Daniel Levy also sacked Damien Comolli, and with Ramos’ two first team coaches, Gus Poyet and Marcos Alvarez, in a total clear-out. Redknapp will be able to appoint his own team.

Spurs have had their worst start since the beginning of football back in whenever it was a long time ago and look good candidates for the relegation boot. So Harry will have his work cut out.

Ramos will get significant compensation as he was on £4 million a year until 2011. And there I was thinking we were in a recession !

They were poor against Udinese which they lost 2-0.

David Bentley and Jonathan Woodgate publicly criticized their displays and Levy finally had enough.

Tony Adams and Joe Jordan will be the interim managers at Portsmouth.

Given that Harry Redknapp took Defoe and a few others from Spurs to Portsmouth, will he now bring him back?
