After being linked to every football club in Western Europe, Andrei Arshavin is now rumoured to be heading to Manchester City to join a cast of all stars languishing at the bottom of the Premier League. It seems that the lure of Arsenal and Champions League football next year is not enough compared to the lure of the Sheikh's cash. Arshavin is after all 27 and needs to get himself a decent living wage before he retires. At £85,000 a week he should be able to stock up for the winter, provided of course that he doesn't join a Bernie Madoff lookalike investment scheme or put all his money in an ISA in a bank that goes bust.

I doubt if Arsenal will up their offer enough to out bid Man City so Man City seem favourites at the moment (unless Real Madrid or Juventus or Bayern Munich or Barcelona or Inter Milan or Roma finally make a bid).
