Watch Football Online - John Terry Dumped as England Captain
In what I consider to be one of the nuttiest decisions ever made by an English fotballing board, right up there with not giving Brian Clough the job as manager back in the 70s and 80s, someone has decied that John Terry should not be England captain. Instead of John Terry England will be captained by that fine updstanding footballer known as Rio Ferdinand. Didn't Rio Fedinand miss a drugs test some time back ?
And what does all this mean ? England captains are supposed to saints ? We know that they aren't saints, they are overpaid useless primadonnas but you can't expect them to be saints as well. John Terry is the most consistent England player there is and one of the best defenders in the world. Why on earth should he be expected to live a life of moral rectitude ? It's nuts, but then just about everything else about English football is nuts too.
I also think this weakens Englan's chances of winning the World Cup by the way.
Is Rio to be confined to a monastery in the meantime ? What a bunch of dosy prats!
We even have that arch tosser Gordon Brown making pronouncements oo. Why not John Major and David Mellor while we are at it?
John's Terry private life is his own affair.
